The Mall Blackburn has signed up to become an official sponsor of the Community Volunteer Awards, which is organised by Community CVS and Blackburn with Darwen Council.
The awards, which are now in their fifth year, recognised individuals and groups who go the extra mile to make lives better for residents across the borough.
People can nominate their local heroes in the following categories:
– Volunteer of the Year
– Lifetime Achievement
– Good Neighbour
– Culture, Leisure & Sporting Life – Recreation
– Prosperity, Learning and & Employment
– Health and Wellbeing
– Environment Award
– Renee Black Integration Award
– Lindsay Dunn Award
– Young People’s Award
– Community Involvement – Organisations
– Grass Roots Awards
Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring the Community Volunteer Awards for the first time this year.
“They recognise the unsung heroes who give up their own time for the good of others.
“We pride ourselves as a shopping centre at the very heart of the community and we have the pleasure of meeting and working with some of the most dedicated volunteers in the entire country, so it is great we are able to give something back.”
