Age UK Blackburn with Darwen is pleased to launch it’s new Wayfinder service to offer support to anyone aged 50 or over in Blackburn with Darwen with a dementia diagnosis.
Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund the service offers support and guidance along the dementia journey to those living with the disease and their carers. Trained staff will offer a listening ear along with help to navigate the care system, and advice and information regarding benefits, entitlements, and future planning. You can self-refer to the service by telephone, email or via the Age UK Blackburn with Darwen website and its social media.
Vicky Shepherd Chief Executive said ‘We know there is a need for this service in Blackburn with Darwen, so are very pleased to be able to offer it now. If you are living with dementia, caring for someone with the disease or a professional working with someone who may need support then please get in touch.’
